About casual puzzles

What are casual puzzles?

Casual games seems to be trending. I like to take out the casual puzzles. Not all casual games qualify as puzzles. This removes all games that only require skills, reaction time or pure luck.

How should we define casual puzzles? Bard (google) came with:

Casual puzzles are a type of puzzle that is designed to be easy to learn and play, yet still challenging and engaging. They are often played in short bursts, making them perfect for a quick break or to relax with after a long day.

For me, it have to be little puzzles that I can solve in a few minutes, they can be hard and need several retries. A game as Candy Crush doesn’t qualify, not that it is not fun playing but it is mere luck and doesn’t need much thinking. The same goes for all the match-3 kind of games.
A Sudoku is another example, it are puzzles and can be quite hard, but they take more than 5 minutes to solve. So not so casual. A variation to sudoku is the binary sudoku a.k.a. binairo. This is definitely a casual puzzle. It is less complex, only the numbers 0 and 1 have to be filled in, but still it needs a decent amount of reasoning to solve it. I have my own implementation in the playstore called redblue, give it a try.
This site is all about casual puzzles, so you will find much more examples of what puzzles you want to solve.
